Remix 08 Brighton
Monday, September 22nd, 2008Well last week, the Brighton Centre played host to the Microsoft Remix 08 event and the Interactive Canvas made it’s debut appearance. The event took place over Thursday and Friday and featured some great speakers such as Bill Buxton and Scott Guthrie. The Interactive Canvas was installed in the main hall of the venu and over the course of the event was the point of much activity with over 500 messages being added by the end of the event.
Here are a selection of images from both the setup of the installation and during the event.
Fabrication Sneek Peek
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008We took a little trip down to Woolwich Dockyard to visit our friends at Nicholas Alexander yesterday to see how the fabrication for the kiosk which will house the wacom screen was coming along, as well as checking up on the anodised boxes which will encase the proximity sensors. The main input kiosk is looking great covered in a very shiny gloss black laminate which is then lit up from within by a series of led’s which shine through coloured sections of the printed facia.
The sensor boxes are made from extruded aluminium which has then been anodised to produce a very slick slighty matt black finish which looks great offset against the shiny black infra-ref plastic which runs along the front allowing the sensors to “see” out.
